What happens if a name has more than one dot, like mary.jane.smith?>
The tool treats the last dot-separated segment as the last name and joins all preceding segments with a space as the first name. So mary.jane.smith becomes Smith, Mary Jane.
What if a line has no dot at all?>
Lines without a dot are capitalized to Title Case and returned unchanged — no comma is added. For example, 'johnson' becomes 'Johnson' with no reformatting.
Does the tool handle hyphenated names like mary-jane.smith?>
Yes. Each part separated by a hyphen is capitalized individually, so mary-jane.smith becomes Smith, Mary-Jane.
